Fondant - Gumpaste sculpted Animals & Clown

We are a few weeks away from the end of the year and everybody is so busy! I'm busy too with all kinds of cake projects. For some of these cakes projects I need to make some things ahead. For this week I have a very cute Cake theme coming up and I need to make some fondant animals and clown. So this cake will be colorfull and cute.

Sculping animals
To sculp animals with fondant can be difficult but at the same time also easy. You only need to have some creativity! Normally I make some sketches before making my animals etc....

When you are making like an animal, you need to make all the body parts individually and then put all together.

Fondant versus gumpaste
Normally for making animals, flowers etc... you can use gumpaste. The most people use premade gumpaste, but I use fondant and ad some Tylose powder. When you add Tylose powder to fondant you create also gumpaste. The Tylose powder adds elasticity to fondant and decreases drying time. Use approximately 1 tsp to 170 gr. fondant.

Last monday I post a Red Velvet recipe for a 1 - 8 " inch cake. With the same recipe you can bake these cupcakes. You can bake approximately 26 cupcakes with my recipe. Baking time is 15 minutes! No more or less! Like I promise last monday the cream cheese frosting recipe is coming soon on my blog. You only need a few ingredients to make the cream cheese frosting.  If you don't want to miss any blog anymore subscribe here!

The theme for these cupcakes were "Paris". I think this young lady likes pink and Paris because those were the only thing she wanted for her cupcakes. Secretly I check her Whatsapp saw the Eiffel tower on her display. So It was not so difficult to figure out, how to decorate the cupcakes! LOL!
